Luiz Carlos Trabuco is the current CEO of the Banco Bradesco (Bradesco Bank), also known as Previdencia e Seguros, the second largest private bank in Brazil. Along with that title, he is also the Chairman and President, Chairman of the Board of Representatives, President of the Board of Executive Officers and Member of the Deliberative Council. His current location is in Sao Paulo, Brazil, South America.

Luis Carlos Trabuco graduated from the University of Sao Paulo, School of Sociology and Politics and received his postgraduate diploma in Philosophy, Sciences and Arts Faculty. He then served as President of Banco Bradesco until 1998. Since 2009, he has been the Chairman and Director of Odontprev. He also served as non-Executive Director of Banco Espirito Santo SA from 2009 to May 2010. He was President of ANAPP, the National Association for Private Pension Plans from August 1994 to August 2000 and a member of the managing board from the Brazilian Association for Listed Companies (ABRASCA) from July 2000 to February 2003.

After 75 years of the bank (as of December 10, 2017), Lazaro de Mello Brandao, who had been chairing the bank since 1990, ceded to the Presidency of the Board of Directors for Luiz Carlos Trabuco. At the age of 91, after 27 years in the Council and 75 years in the bank, Brandao, one of the most powerful bankers in Brazil, requested the waiver of his obligations and presented his letter of resignation. After this resignation, Trabuco would in turn transfer the day-to-day operations command to one of the seven current vice-presidents.

As of January 17, 2018, Bradesco was to announce the successor of the bank’s current President, Luiz Carlos Trabuco ‘without fail’ before Carnival. The depature of Luiz Carlos Trabuco from Bradesco’s management was delayed with extension of the age limit to exercise the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Institution, which increased from 65 to a maximum of 67 years in September 2016.

Bradesco announced on Monday (as of May 05, 2018,) the replacement of Luiz Carlos Trabuco by Octavio de Lazari Junior as President of the Bank according to oglobo.globo.com. Brandao`s Resignation

Luiz Carlos Trabuco will be replacing Lazaro de Mello Brandao as the CEO of Bradesco. Being 91 years old, Lazaro Brandao is one of the longest-serving bank executives in the world. He has been in the position for over 25 years. Brandao is one of the two chairmen that Bradesco has had in its lifetime. He was the CEO of the firm from 1981 to 1999. Starting as a clerk at 16 years old, Brandao worked his way up to the management level. He will be resigning from his position as Chairman of the Executive Board of Bradesco. However, Brandao will control some of Bradesco`s holding firms.

Brandao, the holder of the No.1 employee badge, told journalists that he made a personal decision to step down from the Chairmanship. He also added that Bradesco`s board required a change to ensure continued success. Brandao had used his position, as Chairman of Bradesco, to foster a culture that favored the promotion of executives from the organization`s ranks. This is a course that the company is set to utilize as it looks for Trabuco`s replacement. Brandao believes outsourcing of executives is a regressive rather than a progressive move.

What Next for Bradesco

The current CEO of the Bradesco, Luiz Carlos Trabuco, will continue being the CEO until March. The bank will nominate a new CEO because the bank`s policy does not allow one person to manage two executive positions. The bank amended its bylaws to increase the maximum age of CEOs from 65 years to 67 years. As a result, Luiz Carlos Trabuco has until the begging of next year to appoint a new CEO.

§ Mauricio Machado de Minas

Minas is a 58-year-old who was behind the bank`s digital-only spinoff. He joined Bradesco in 2009 from CPM Braxis SA. Minas is the current Chief IT Officer of the company.

The Brazilian government had announced that it would partner with BINDES to improve basic sanitation services in the country.
